The Kumo RADdonneur

A$2,999.00

Early in the 1900's a French steel randonneur slipped from the decks of a cargo ship in a violent storm, battered and at the mercy of the winds and currents it washed up on the shores of the Australian coastline.

Semi-sentient and half feral, it headed for the hills...

On my travels into the mountains, one dark night I came across this snarling, confused and half mad creature and resolved to tame it to learn of it's secrets. How could this machine survive in the hostile backcountry?

Maybe that's how I came up with the RADdonneur? a rando gone mad? I can't truly remember now... Maybe we will never now.

The result of this fortuitous meeting has been a frameset, tough, fast and sure footed. Designed for backcountry travel the RADdonneur is unfazed by both tough tracks and smooth roads if you should be lucky enough to come across them.

The design is a culmination of over 30,000km of testing and tweaking, I wanted to build a versatile bike which can be built with drop bars, risers, jones, 48mm slicks to 2.4" knobby tyres, and many more variations.

They are optimised for 1x drivetrain, but can be run 2x with certain chainring configurations, though just be aware they aren't designed for it so I take no responsibility if your combo doesn’t work.

Maximum tyre clearance is dependent on rim and tyre choice, e.g. if you use massive wide rims and tyres with chunky knobs you may not be able to mount 2.4 “ tyres.

The price includes the frame and fork.

Frame and fork are built from tough Columbus and Reynolds steel with smooth and beefy fillet brazing. The frame features a T47 bottom bracket shell and 12mm through axles front and rear.

ISO disc tabs are versatile, easy to work on and tough. Steerer is 1 1/8" straight and seatpost diameter is 27.2mm.

There are 3 bottle cage mounts, the DT mounts are a triple boss for manythings/large water cages

The frames will be available as I build them, keep an eye on Instagram and sign up for my mail list to make sure you don't miss out.

After snagging a frameset, I will email you to discuss frame colour, where you can choose from half a dozen great powder coat colours and we will also talk about the options for the frame which include:

Custom stem

Nameplate on TT

Fork mounts for Manythings/Direct mount bags

I can also provide all the components you need to build a capable machine, wheelbuilds and assembly services are also available.
